At around 3:00 AM PST, Chile had it’s worst earthquake since 1900, it was a magnitude 8.8, that’s 11 times as powerful as the earthquake in Haiti.
The aftershock may be felt in Japan,
Hawai’i and California.
In 1900 the magnitude was 9.5, that’s 11 times as powerful as the one today.
Plants vs. Zombies, is out for the iPhone.
PopCap Games has again released a great application for the iPhone,
It has almost everything that the full version has, except mini games and puzzle mode.
It is now number one in both the ‘Top Paid” and “Top Grossing” sections.
For $2.99 and being five stars, it’s a must buy.
It appears that Apple’s app store is undergoing maintenance, considering the Top Twenty-five apps pages, and some of the category pages are coming up blank.
Now, there are a couple of reasons why this could be happening, one being because of the iPad, the other could just be regular maintenance.
I wonder if anyone before reading this post, knows why Apple is realeasing the iPad in March.
Well, if you do, great, if you don’t know, keep reading.
Apple’s iPad has not yet been approved by the FCC, the carrier band has not been used before and therefor has not yet been approved by the FCC.
That most likely is why there were only the Wi-Fi models at the launch.
Also, on a different note, about Apple’s comment that said “The iPad supports almost all of the 140,000 apps the iPhone has”
Almost means it does not support camera apps such as Qikcam.
Amazon just announced that they bought a touchscreen start-up company called Touchco.
Touchco can make touchscreens for about $10/square foot, it can also make touchscreen so they can handle an unlimited number of fingers on the screen.
Hopefully Amazon will put them to good use and make a tablet that does multitasking, and has a good name, also Flash is a need.
You know how AT&T has said that it’s network cannot handle the Sling Player, well today, they announced that they are letting it through on it’s 3G network.
Sling Player allows you to connect your iPhone to the Sling Box you own.
Now this is a good start, but where is tethering?
If their network can handle that, then why cannot it handle tethering?
I think that it could be in the 4.0 update.
Whether you’re just an engineer, or Darth Vader, you will be exited with the newest robotic marvels at TED.
almost all of them look like something out of “War of the Worlds”, or Star Wars.
I just hope that they programmed Asimovs laws into them.
Nexus One got an update yesterday, it includes… Multitouch.
That’s right, a software update has brought multitouch to the Nexus One,
I have yet to see it in action, so I don’t know the speed.
But, if you have a Nexus One, you should update it to the latest software.
If anyone wants to, they could make a video, of the Nexus One next to the iPhone, and do a multitouch speed test, I would be very curious to see how it holds up compared to the iPhone.
Thanks-
Southwest Airlines, is going to make all of their planes Wi-Fi enabled by 2012.
Hopefully, this does not cause any issues with the flight pattern.
Another thing that seems strange, is the fact that they can have their Wi-Fi router turned on, and we can’t.
This could be what the MythBusters tested, in which some radio frequencies can indeed, effect the airplane. Maybe the router they’re using does not have the specific radio frequency that effects the airplane’s communcations with the ground.
It’s out! It’s not 3.2 like we expected, but it is an update.
One thing to think about before updating, is that you wouldn’t be able to jailbreak for about two weeks, and that may or may not be a issue, but for some it could matter.
It’s quite a minor update.
The issues addressed include better accuracy for the battery in the 3GS, and resolved issues with 3rd party apps not opening.
Spray-on glass is transparent, non-toxic, and can protect virtually any surface against almost any damage from hazards such as water, UV radiation, dirt, heat, and bacterial infections.
It was developed in Turkey, and the company that created SIO2 (which is Silicon dioxide) is working with the UK to get it mass manufactured, and used.
It’s finally happened, Tesla Motors is going public!
We’ve all been waiting for it to happen and it has.
After the government gave them a $469,000,000 grant they decided to go public.
They are also going ahead and creating factories, which will be able to produce about 20,000 cars a year.
AirMouse by Deanmark, it looks pretty amazing, however side effects include:
Arm pain, finger pain, shoulder pain, also your arm could fall off.
However, it does make you look totally cool, and you don’t need a mouse, just a glove.
Stephen Colbert has an iPad.
I wonder if Apple paid him to show it at the Grammys.
So, it looks like if you want an iPad early, all you have to do is be at the Grammys and be the host of a TV show.
If you’re in that category, you should contact Apple and ask for your iPad.
If not, then you have to wait until the 27th of March.
See you at the Apple Store.
